GRAND TOUR this is my garden in the Summer of 2008
You wont believe where this wonderful curling tree came from! On a special occasion in the winter my loving hubby brought me flowers. Part of the greenery of the flowers was this curling branch with curling leaves. Well, by the time the flowers had died these two branches had roots! So I just changed the water all through the winter and by spring they had enough roots to go into the ground. Here they are just a few short months later! This is the loveliest of trees,,, and fast growing! Where DH pulled the shoots together the branches fuzed and are one... there's a hole in the tree! Now they are taller then I... not an amazing feat considering I'm only 5'2".
Here they are with the Rose of Sharons. This curve is in the back yard.
This is the herb I need IDed.
Katie's pride and joy. Her first flowers that are all her own. She's got twine coming down the pilars that you can't see. They are Morning Glories and growing like a weed. She's got a little watering can that she uses on them a few times a day. See that blue sky? Lovely isn't it? We love it here. See the kennel behind the lovely rocker? We can now leave the dogs outside instead of having to lock them into the garage when we leave for the day.
Here's the left front of the house. You can see my roses are really growing! Then I have a wooden 2 x 4 walk way that I just tossed the planks into. There on the left and right of that I have flowers growing. Jasmine, English lavendar, sunflowers, carnations and other small flowers.
Here's the mint in the back yard. This is the one that we pick out for tea. It's soooooooo wonderfully refreshing. Just using the leaves... cover them in a pot with good water... boil covered for 20 minutes. Let set till cool. Drain and squeeze water from leaves. This is consentrate, we water it down 50/50 and add stevia and ice. NUMMY!
So here's the peach tree, it's the first season for him.
The right of the house is where the birds usually hang out. We have water and seed for them. They love it here. You can see my wine barrel there on the right by the pillar, there's another on the left too. There are two poplar trees there on the far right of the photo.
So here's an alley view of the roses. These are in their second year and were bare root. They are almost as tall as me and bloom profusely.
I just love sunflowers, these were planted by the birds.
Here's the wine barrel on the left with the jasmine and a bit of the lavendar.
No, that's not a touched up photo... that really is our sky.
 Uncle Barry.
My gardens doing really well. We have melons over by the sunflowers and need to harvest the beans as they are going great.
Here's the sunflowers that the birds planted in the front. There's the butterfly bush and just behind Barkey you can see the Wintergreen mint. LOVE IT! Next year it will be even larger I'm sure as this is the second year for that as well. It amazes me that everything goes dormant for the winter and there's nothing green at all left for so many months and then spring comes and everything comes back to life.
